Syrian army has cleared the Damascus al-Tal suburb of insurgents fighting against the government of President Bashar al-Assad.
Syria has been the scene of violence by armed groups since March 2011. The unrest has claimed the lives of thousands of people, including a large number of security personnel.
Damascus blames "outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups" for the unrest, asserting that it is being orchestrated from abroad.
