BEIRUT: Progressive Socialist Party Head Walid Jumblatt highlighted the importance of the Druze sect’s Islamic affiliation, during a special meeting for the Druze sect Thursday.
Jumblatt called for “strengthening intellectual communication” between the Druze sect and the rest of the Muslim community, clarifying that the move serves to emphasize the sect’s Islamic affiliation. The PSP head also stressed on "the historic role” the Druze sect plays in the Islamic world.
The Druze leader emphasized the importance of communication between Islamic sects to avoid divisions, warning of "risks that threaten Lebanon at this sensitive stage of its history.”
