The Russian Air Force conducted over 20 reconnaissance flights above the Deir Ezzor Governorate on Sunday, capturing footage of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) movements between their strategic supply route from the aforementioned Syrian province and the Al-‘Anbar Governorate of western Iraq.
According to a military source from the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard, the Russian Air Force notified the SAA’s officers stationed at the Deir Ezzor Military Airport of their flights above the province, adding that these were merely for reconnaissance purposes and that they are coordinating with the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) to monitor the terrorist group’s movements.
