"And I have found both freedom and safety in my madness, the freedom of loneliness and the safety from being understood, for those who understand us enslave something in us. But let me not be too proud of my safety. Even a Thief in a jail is safe from another thief. "

Rebel commander survives assassination as infighting plagues Jaish Islam- Al-Masdar News

A senior leader from the 3rd Brigade of the Saudi-backed Jaish al-Islam, Abu Mohammed al-Qaeqae, has survived an assassination attempt with an IED planted inside his vehicle in Douma, Eastern Ghouta.

Local activists operating from inside the besieged city confirmed the attempt comes as tensions between al-Qaeqae and the Brigade’s top commander, Abu Alnour Tabarnin, have increased since the former has refused to storm – with armored vehicles – towns in the Eastern Ghouta region when Jaish al-Islam was fighting rival rebel groups.

Al-Qaeqae, therefore, was deployed to another battlefront with the Syrian Army.

Al-Qaeqae was injured when an IED planted in his pick-up car went off yesterday when he was in a regular leave to his family.

The activists also reported several leaders from Jaish al-Islam have been previously assassinated for bearing different viewpoints.
